Nola is a certified lymphedema management specialist, having trained in the field in 2001. She utilizes a variety of techniques to help reduce edema issues, including manual lymphatic drainage, gentle myofascial releases, and a progressive exercise program. With her expertise and experience, Nola is committed to helping you achieve the best possible outcome.
Your body is a marvel of intricacy, with bones that may be unique in shape and joints that may have their own quirks. Whether your feet tend to over-pronate or over-supinate, or your knees have a tendency towards valgus or varus alignment, it's important to understand and work with these natural variations. Rather than viewing certain movements as inherently "good" or "bad," consider them opportunities to learn and grow. Rehabilitation training should not be a one-size-fits-all approach but rather a personalized journey towards a pain-free, confident way of moving. With the right guidance, you can trust that your body is capable and resilient, ready to take on whatever challenges come your way.
Licensed in Physical Therapy in 1999, Nola’s 25-year career in healthcare has focused on treatment of patients with chronic pain, treatment of the performance artist, assisting patients with chronic edema and lymphedema, as well performing somatic bodywork on horses and dogs. Nola utilizes a holistic approach taking lifestyle into account when assessing functional movements to address myofascial compensation patterns. Nola has a strong manual therapy background, and she employs hands-on techniques to create permanent changes in her clients. Her goal is to empower her clients to achieve a pinnacle level of functioning that they can maintain throughout their lifetime.
Nola enjoys spending time with her 17- year daughter and her two dogs. Her hobbies include extensive hours in hot yoga and inferno hot Pilates classes each week. Nola completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training in April 2022.
Prior to her journey into healthcare and bodywork, Nola was heavily involved in dance. Beginning at age 4, she studied ballet, lyrical, tap, and jazz. She competed locally and traveled overseas multiple times for dance exhibitions and competitions. In addition, Nola completed her Royal Academy of Dance syllabus exams by age 17. Dancing 20-25 hours each week, Nola experienced chronic knee pain and sought treatment from a specialized dance physical therapist while in high school. This sparked her interest in the field of physical therapy. She attended the University of Washington and received her bachelor's of Physical Therapy in 1999. After graduating, Nola worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings for the next 4 years gaining extensive knowledge in lymphatic management techniques. To further her manual skills, she attended the Guild for Structural Integration in 2003 and began utilizing the Rolf Method of Structural Integration (ROLFING) to assist her patients with structural issues and myofascial compensation patterns. She opened Turning Pointe Physical Therapy, Inc. in 2003 and over the next 18 years, she was able to employ multiple physical and occupational therapists of varying disciplines. In 2010, Nola enrolled in the equine somatic program with the Equine Natural Movement School in Battleground, WA. She received her certification in equine and canine somatic bodywork in November of 2010. In 2018, Nola attended massage school at Therapeutic Connections School of Massage in Spokane, WA and received her massage therapy license.
Nola closed her group practice at the end of 2021 and opened Be Inspired Wellness, LLC to concentrate on individual patient care. She has most recently started work with the Theater Dance Department at Gonzaga University. Nola continues to pursue trainings in performance art physical therapy and rehabilitation.
